What does being a Member mean?
Being a member of Belgian-Alliance Credit Union also makes you an owner. The $5 share that you deposit when your membership is opened allows you to attend our Annual General Meetings and have a say in how the credit union in governed. It also allows you to share in any Patronage Allocation if declared annually by the Board of Directors.What are the next steps to becoming a Member?
Our memberships are open to all - children, adults, non-profit organizations and businesses.
Personal Memberships
When opening a personal account, all signers must provide one valid, current and original photo identification issued by federal, provincial or territorial government. Expired ID is not acceptable.Examples of Acceptable Identification:
- Driver's License
- Canadian Passport
- Permanent Residence Card
- Provincial or Territorial ID Card (identity or enhanced)
- Secure Certificate of Indian Status
- Manitoba Enhanced Identification Card
- Armed Forces Card
Business Memberships
For all business accounts, please contact your desired branch. Visit our Business Banking page for details on all of our Business Accounts.
Although not required, we recommend that you contact us prior to coming in to open a personal or business membership. The process can take up to 30 minutes, depending on the services requested, and we wish to ensure that our staff are available to make your experience as efficient as possible. Please note that a requirement of opening any membership with Belgian-Alliance Credit Union includes a Credit Bureau investigation.
